[featured-text]We just got back from the AOTMP conference held in Orlando, Florida last week. The conference focused on fixed and mobile telecom management and there were 12 countries represented in our vertical market this year. Of special note, it was AOTMP’s 10th year anniversary! Congrats to them for their fine work![/featured-text]
At the conference what stood out the most was the “Hot New Solutions” sessions, showcasing emerging and trending solutions. In these sessions the end users were given an opportunity to discuss their vendor experiences with a live Q&A with TEM vendors. This round table and peer discussion time proved to be very valuable for both end-users and vendors as we were given unique insights into positive experiences and challenges faced over the past year.
An interesting perspective shared by many TEM customers at the event was that they craved more professional service help in the areas of complete life-cycle management. They inquired about consultants that understand topics ranging from today’s ever changing landscape of next generation infrastructure to M&A contract vehicle options to what FCC regulation changes will impact their bottom lines. In many one-on-one sessions with the end-users they played out scenarios where they now need to capture and optimize all avenues of the technology ecosystem, not just telecom in order to support both internal growth and global expansion. These conversations were very telling, as the journey in technology management is much more than data validation—it’s also about the deep domain expertise that resides with legacy TDM residents as their core knowledge base.
Our team thought the show was very well thought out as it caught the very essence of all the pain points the TEM customers were experiencing. It enabled us as TEM vendors to walk away with a “top 5 wish list” which was valuable for us here at Network Control as we work to continue to provide our consulting services to keep our customers up to date with new developments and solutions.
